It’s official – Norway’s the best

Well, why exactly did you think I moved here? Norway has again been rated as the best country in the world to live in, according to the United Nations Development Index. It’s followed by Australia and Iceland is second and third place respectively.  All the Nordic countries feature among the top 20 nations on the ranking list, with Sweden in 7th position, Finland in 12th and Denmark in 16th. France rejoined the top 10 countries to clinch the 8th position, and the US come in at 13th. The ranking among the 182 nations is based on life expectancy, level of education, and gross national product (GNP) per inhabitant. This year’s index was based on data from 2007 and does not consider the impact of the global economic crisis (in case you’re wondering how the heck Iceland managed to come third).
