- The Food and Wooden Boats Festival, Jun, the town’s biggest and grandest party, harbour area

- The Border Race, Aug, annual cross-country bike race between Strömstad and Halden, with finish line at Fredriksten Fortress. Over 6,000 participants competed in the 80km race in 2009. www.grenserittet.com
